Official exam info

Jharkhand Public Service Commission's Combined Civil Services Examination (CCE) — the state's senior administrative-service exam. Prelims has 2 papers: General Studies-I (standard national GS content plus a 10-question Jharkhand-specific block) and an ENTIRE second paper, General Studies-II, dedicated exclusively to Jharkhand across 16 sections (tribal administrative systems, the Jharkhand movement, distinctive identity, folk culture/literature/dance/tourist sites, land-related laws, geography and industry, schemes and plans, forests, environment and disaster management). Mains has a qualifying Hindi/English paper, a candidate-choice Language & Literature elective, and 4 further substantive papers: Paper III (Social Sciences — History and Geography, split between standard national content and 40%-weighted Jharkhand-specific sections), Paper IV (Constitution & Polity, Public Administration & Good Governance — mostly generic), Paper V (Indian Economy, Globalization and Sustainable Development — generic groups plus Jharkhand poverty/land/Five-Year-Plan/industrial-policy groups), and Paper VI (General Science, Environment & Technology Development — generic groups plus a Jharkhand agro-climatic-zone group). Study material reuses the verified national content pool for all generic sections, with 5 chapters authored fresh for Jharkhand's own tribal society and traditional governance systems, its pre-independence tribal revolts and freedom movement (Santhal Hul, Birsa Munda's Ulgulan, the Tana Bhagat Movement), its geography and mineral wealth, its land laws (the Chotanagpur Tenancy Act and Santhal Parganas Tenancy Act) and land/forest issues (PESA, the Forest Rights Act, Fifth Schedule administration), and its industrial economy and development indicators.
